Fire Door Safety Week (FDSW) is an awareness campaign which was launched in 2013 to increase public understanding of the vital role that fire doors play in protecting life and property. As fire door manufacturers and specialists, we got involved in a big way this year by hosting a special event at our factory in Mallusk.

The event took place across three days where guests were invited to come along to our manufacturing facility in Mallusk for a tour and some informative discussion around everything from the specification of fire doors to the importance of regular maintenance and inspection. Our guests heard from Errol Little, consultant to and original founder of Elite Doors who gave a talk on Q-Mark certification and what this means for our clients and customers. This was followed by a talk on fire door inspection by KCC Groups’ BM Trada certified fire door inspector and installer, Johnny Kelly. Guests also heard about the capabilities of Elite Doors from Elite GM Richard Holmes before taking a guided tour of the Elite Doors factory and witnessing first hand how our doors are manufactured and the level of care and attention to detail that goes into every single doorset.
